A Community Paramedic’s dedication and service is being remembered with a scholarship established by Mobile CE™.
The Kai Hjermstad Memorial Scholarship will provide assistance to Community Paramedic students completing the Community Paramedicine National Curriculum Program. Hjermstad, one of the first licensed Community Paramedics in the U.S., died unexpectedly December 28, 2017.
“Kai was a Paramedic, Community Paramedic and well known Educator, with a heart of gold. He always demonstrated a self-fulfilling commitment to see desirous EMS providers become true practitioners through self-development and education. We want Kai’s passion and love for Community Paramedicine to continue in others as it did in him. We want to help students achieve their calling and dream to become a Community Paramedic by being able to award a scholarship to help with some of the cost” said Mary Ahlers, a Mobile CE™ board member and friend.
The goal for the scholarship fund is $50,000.
